Subject: Server not showing in chooser

I had a problemw with my *nix box.
(I stupidly deleted the kernel)
In debugging I recompiled netatalk.
Freebsd 3.2 and 1.4b2+asun.
Some of my macs see the server in the chooser and some don't.
What could be wrong?
