X Consortium Projects The following are projects the X Consortium has recently been working on. - Fresco, a C++ toolkit featuring a CORBA-based object model, structured graphics, device-independent and resolution-independent graphics and printing, graphical edit-in-place embedding with network distribution, multithreading, Xt interoperability, and window system independence - the Keyboard extension, supporting ISO 9995, disability access, and more - LBX, the Low Bandwidth X protocol - DBE, the Double-Buffering extension. This replaces the Multi-Buffering extension - an Extended Visuals extension, for describing sophisticated frame buffer capabilities - PEX 5.2, featuring texture mapping, alpha blending, transparency rendering, and many new primitives and attributes - XRECORD, an extension for recording X protocol traffic - External Agent support - CommonAudio, providing a standard network protocol for digital audio - Discussion of what other aspects of Multimedia the X Consortium should be involved in - X through corporate firewalls - Printing using the X protocol and existing Xlib (and related) APIs
