Subject: [*] Infinity MetaFile Editor 1.0

MetaFile Editor is a utility that allows to see and edit the content of an
Infinity MetaFile, the file format for the Infinity 3D engine.
This file format is supported by all French Touch tools. The Infinity
MetaFile format brings many new improvements over the old object file format
including optimized data organization and compressed textures.

To be able to use MetaFile Editor, you need:

Subject: [*] Infinity Model Builder 1.0

Model Builder is a free powerful 3D editor designed to create and edit
object files with real-time rendering through the Infinity 3D Rave engine.
Model Builder can import the meshes contained in 3DMF files, modify them
(position, rotation, scale...), add colors or textures, and save the result
as a standard Infinity MetaFile.
Note: Model Builder is not a 3D modeler: you cannot create meshes.

Minimal configuration:
Power Macintosh PCI with a 832x624 screen resolution, but the Rave software
engine provided by QuickDraw 3D Rave will probably be too slow for real-time
editing.
Best configuration:
a G3 (all G3 Power Macintoshes have ATI 3D chips on board) with 4Mb of VRAM
or a PCI Power Macintosh with a 3D accelerator card (with at least 4Mb of
VRAM) which is Rave compliant, and 1024x768 screen resolution.
Model Builder needs around 800Kb of free memory to run: the rest of the
memory is used to store the model's data and the data of the Rave engine if
you choose a software Rave engine.
Because Model Builder 3D engine draws directly to screen, palettes cannot
overlay the rendering window. As a consequence an 832x624 or a 1024x768
screen resolution is necessary to see the rendering window and the palettes.

archives produced by zip. zip version 2.2 is compatible
with PKZIP 2.04.

This port supports also Apple-event.So you can install it in your
WWW-Browser as a helper-app. A additional apple event "do_cmd"

MacZip requires at least System 7 and a Macintosh with a minimum of a
Motorola 68020 or PowerPC 601 processor. Other configurations may work
but it is not tested at all.

The application is distributed as a fat binary with both regular 68K
and native PowerPC versions included.

Subject: [*] MICR E13B Type Typeface

Version: 01/29/2000
Shareware $39.95

The MICR E13B Match font emulates the special printers or printer cartridge
used to print the special characters at the bottom of checks used in the US
and Canada. It is provided in both TrueType and PostScript format.

With a laser printer it is possible to print checks without using
pre-printed stock. This allows greater flexibility and the creation of
custom applications for instance the printing of check fac-simile for
payment over electronic transactions with checks.

The MICR E13B Match font has been successfully used by hundreds of US and
Canadian companies. The later is very important since canadian standards
are stricter than US ones and some cheap fonts available will not pass. The
documentation also indicates how to test MICR printing.

The registered version comes with information about where to find magnetic
toner how to implement the font and other valuable information about MICR
technology.

This font has numbers and blocky check characters only.

Subject: Default Page Size under OS 8.6 - Problem Solved!

Thanks to everyone who sent helpful comments. I finally found a
solution - more or less by accident. The Page Setup dialogue box for
Word 5.1a under OS 8.6 has a pull-down menu which defaults to 'Page
Attributes' which is where you set Page Size - A4 in my case. As
described before, Control-clicking the OK button brings up another
dialogue which asks if you want the chosen size to be the default -
but the chosen option doesn't stick for Word 5.1a - although it does
seem to work for Word 98 and some other applications I use. HOWEVER
if you choose 'Word 5.1a' from the pull-down menu in the Page Setup
dialogue you are presented with a series of check boxes one of which
is 'Use as default'. Check this, click OK (Cntrl-click not necessary)
and the page size chosen under 'Page Attributes' now 'sticks' as the
Word 5.1a default. Mac Secrets please copy. (And by the way, I
really do know how to spell 'curious')

Subject: Graphic indexer with backgrounding

Hi folks,

I'm sorry I haven't contributed much to the digest of late.

I'm looking for a graphics program that catalogs/cretaes contact sheet
files. I have been using GraphicConverter and, to a lesser extent,
QuickNailer, but as far as I know, neither of these are capable of
superimposing the thumbnails (HTML style) over a background image or
pattern. I thought the latest GraCon (v3.7.1) did, but I checked last
night and found I was mistaken. I am aware of ImageViewer, PhotoCat,
Extensis Portfolio 4 (which I suspect would probably be my best bet on
this), and iView MM, but I was wondering if there was another one or two
apps out there that had this capability. And yes, I _have tried the Mac
port of CompuPic -- I find it shamefully lacking in user-friendliness.

Thanks in advance.
